Applegate Valley’s small vineyard producing wines for the simplest to the most complex palate.

Located in the heart of the Missouri Flat area of the Applegate Valley, this unique site produces some of the finest grapes in the Valley. When this 10 acre lot was created, the seasonal Rocky Creek that ran through the middle of the property was moved to the west side. 2 dozers were used to move the soil and creek bed. This process mixed the differing soil types all the way to bed rock.

In 1982, the vineyard was established and after several years, the vineyard no longer required irrigating. Being one of the only dry land farmed vineyards in the Applegate, it produces excellent fruit for wine making.

The vineyard was established by Howard Whitaker who developed the trellising. Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon were the original varietals. In 2003, an acre of Chardonnay was removed and replanted in Zinfandel.

In 1996, the site’s first winery (Drobney’s Vineyard) was established. After the untimely passing of Russel Drobney, Rex and Sandi Garoutte purchased the vineyard and winery in 1998 and continue to operate the vineyard and winery.

We renamed the vineyard Rosella’s after Rex’s mother who passed away in 1998. Many of our wines have Hawaiian names in tribute to her as Hawaii was her favorite place to visit.

We only produce 800 cases of wine annually and provide an unparalleled selection of wines with something to satisfy every palate, from notable single varietals to unique blends, as well as dessert wines.
